The Soviet T-28 medium tank was a multi-turreted inter-war design. Over 500 were produced between 1932-1941. Armed with a short barrelled howitzer and multiple machine guns, the T-28 was designed as an infantry support and breakthrough tank. The T-28 saw service against the Polish in 1939, as well as against the Finnish, who would capture and use several examples. Over 400 were still in service by the time of the German invasion of the Soviet Union in 1941, with some examples still soldiering on past 1942.
